Recreation is at the heart of our valley. The Clearwater and Snake Rivers are bordered by 26 miles of jogging trails and bicycle pathways that connect Lewiston, Clarkston, and Asotin. These cities have facilities for picnicking, hiking, and biking.

Hells Canyon is the deepest gorge in North America. Formed by the Snake River, it is designated a National Wild and Scenic River. Whitewater rafting is popular on large sections of the river and 1/2- to multiple-day jet boat trips are available.

Several marinas provide boating access and sturgeon, trout, bass and steelhead populate the waterways.

The area abounds with wildlife. Geese, ducks and an occasional osprey, bald eagle, hawk, owl, chukar, pheasant, and deer may be seen. Thousands of acres of wilderness areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities.
